Sunburn is a radiation burn that affects the skin tissue due to overexposure to UV rays from the sun. It causes redness of the skin as well as irritation.
HOW TO PREVENT SUNBURN
Sunburn can be painful and embarrassing. Follow these tips to avoid sunburn and reduce sun damage and keep your skin safe:
Watch the clock : The sun’s rays are the most intense between 10 AM and 4 PM. Try avoid being outdoors during the time or stick to the shady areas as much as possible.
Wearing the right clothes : Broad-brimmed hats, long-sleeves, pants and UV-blocking sunglasses can protect you from the sun to a large extent.
Sunscreen : It is important to cover exposed areas of the skin with a minimum of 1 ounce of broad- spectrum sunscreen with a Sun Protection Factor (SPF) of at least 30. A broad-spectrum sunscreen offers protection against UVA and UVB.
